Funds sought for water, sanitary and storm sewer upgrade for L’Orignal
The water, sanitary and storm sewer upgrade project is on the table again.
EVB Engineering will assist the township to prepare its application for a hoped-for maximum $2,738,820 in maximum costs to complete the project. The application deadline is January 22, 2020.
The Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) — Green Infrastructure Stream Grant is for Ontario communities with populations of less than 100,000 and is for projects that focus on immediate, critical local water, wastewater and stormwater needs. About $200 million in federal and provincial funding is a available in this round.
While L’Orignal’s water supply and waste water treatment plant are fairly recent, its storm and sanitary sewer system is decades old. The municipality has conducted studies previously as part of grant applications for upgrading its systems, but several previous funding applications have been unsuccessful.
