Police looking for male motorist after attempt to lure young person into his vehicle

On November 6, 2019, shortly after 3 p.m., a Russell County Ontario Provincial Police officer received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle in Embrun, Ontario.

This unknown male motorist was driving a red vehicle. He stopped on Notre-Dame Street offered to give a young person a ride.

Assistance is being sought from the public in helping to identify the driver and/or the vehicle.

The driver is described as:

  • Male between 50 – 60 years-of-age
  • Caucasian
  • Skinny
  • Grey/White hair
  • Wearing a long sleeve white and blue dress shirt
  • Speaking fluent English

The vehicle is described as:

  • Clean, dark red, four-door hatchback, similar to a Hyundai Elantra, 2016 or older
  • Ontario plates with licence beginning with “B”

Police encourage parents to discuss and review “Stranger Danger” tips with their children. If you or anyone you know are aware of this male’s identity or have any further information about this incident, you are asked to contact the Russell County OPP at 613-443-4499 or OPP Communication Centre at 1-888-310-1122.
