The Conseil Scolaire District Catholique de l’Est Ontario or CSDCEO announced that it is partnering with Hockey Canada to start a program for students from Grades 7 to 12. The purpose of the program will be to get students involved in physical activities and help them build self-confidence while helping them develop physically and academically. The students will have pre-determined schedules that will work around their classes. Starting in September, Le Relais in Alexandria and l’Escale in Rockland will initiate the program, while other schools will able to join.

Renée Turpin, the school board’s education director, said, “Physical activity has a great influence on memory, focus, and attention span. To ensure the success of students beyond academic performance, we will ensure its full development in all possible form. We are very excited about this new partnership with Canada’s hockey elite!”
