Convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores are targets of thieves

Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) are advising members of the public in the Embrun, Limoges and Casselman areas about vehicle thefts and break-ins around the communities.

Many of the incidents happen at convenience stores, gas stations and grocery stores.

The thieves appear to be targeting cash and cigarettes. Merchants are reminded to take precautionary steps to protect their businesses and never to leave cash on the premises if at all possible.

If you see or are aware of any suspicious activity, you are asked to contact the Russell County OPP 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
