Bigger certainly proves to be better for Healing Arts Studio. The Alexandria business moved into its new Main Street location this month.
“I have room to dance!”, says business owner Wanda Bender. Healing Arts Studio’s new location is at least three times the space of its former Lochiel Street place, allowing for expanded product lines and dedicated space for workshops.
Healing Arts Studio is a multi-faceted business offering clothing alterations, a gift shop, up-cycled clothing, jewelry, and workshops.
The larger location provides dedicated space for each product line and service, including a roomier area for clothing alterations and an alcove for reiki sessions.
“I don’t have to move everything each time I want to hold a workshop or set up the reiki table,” says Bender.
Bender says moving to a Main Street location took a leap of faith. From a home-based business to the small shop on Lochiel Street, Healing Arts Studio and its sister business Dragonfly With Me has undergone perpetual growth.
Bender grows with her business, taking challenges in stride. Bender just completed a one-year term as Division Director for Toastmasters and has recently became a licenced wedding officiant for All Seasons Weddings.
In September, Bender is organizing the second annual Transformational Wellness Show in Alexandria. The show features motivational speakers, personal coaches, and a mystic vendor’s market.
It’s her multi-faceted approach that has kept Bender and her business growing. Incorporating eco-friendly and locally-made goods into her product line, and expanding her own creations to include djembe (drum) carrying bags and covers, allows Bender to fill many niches.
Healing Arts Studio is located at 52 Main Street South in Alexandria, across from BMO. The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday; call 343-585-3434 to check for hours, or visit dragonflywithme.ca.
