Victim identified in Highway 417 fatal collision

The victim of a fatal collision which happened on May 29 on Highway 417 has been identified. Fifty-nine-year-old Claude Boudreau of Laval, Quebec, (driver of tractor trailer 1) was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a second tractor trailer, which was stationary at the time of impact, was uninjured. There was no other occupant in this vehicle.

On May 29, 2019 at approximately 7:47 a.m, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the scene of a two (2) vehicle collision on Highway 417 Eastbound between County Road 34 (mile marker 27) and McCrimmon Road (mile marker 35), North Glengarry Township.

SD&G OPP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI).

Preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 7:47 a.m., a tractor trailer (1) was travelling eastbound on Highway 417 when, for reasons under investigation, collided with a stationary tractor trailer (2) in a construction zone.

SD&G OPP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI).
