The Tomlinson construction company has issued advance notification for the closure of the Highway 417 Westbound On-Ramp (Both S-W Ramp and N-W Merge Ramp) as well as the Highway 417 Westbound Off-Ramp at Highway 34. These ramps will be closed for a duration of three calendar days starting Wednesday May 29, 2019 at 7 a.m. and will reopen on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 9 p.m. Advance notification signs are currently in place; detour signage will be installed prior to the closure. This work is part of improvements to the area following the installation of traffic lights there last year.

This closure is to facilitate the construction of temporary ramps across the westbound lanes during the single lane bi-direction configuration in the eastbound lanes.

Below is a map of the applicable detour routes.

Note that a scheduled culvert replacement, which may mean the closure of Highway 34 at the overpass for about 57 hours, is currently scheduled for July 5, 6 and 7.

Previous information indicated that a detour will be in place at that time to send vehicles on Aberdeen Road, to Duval Road and from there, along County Road 10 to Vankleek Hill’s main intersection which connects with Highway 34.
