An illegal cannabis-growing operation was shut down on May 15, 2019 by Sûreté du Québec (SQ). The cannabis production facility was located on Chemin de la Rivière-Rouge, Grenville-sur-la-Rouge.

Police carried out a search and seized more than 80 cannabis plants, more than 40 kilos of cannabis in bulk and money, as well as production equipment.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and faces charges under Cannabis Act as well as for theft of electricity.

The Contraband Investigation Division, through the ACCES-Cannabis Program exists to eliminate illegal cannabis being sold and to reduce the unfair competition of illegal producers and traffickers against the SQDC.
