Volunteers joined board members and staff of the Champlain Library at the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon which took place on Wednesday, April 24 at the Creating Centre in Vankleek Hill. The luncheon is held every year to thank volunteers for their dedication and commitment to the library.

Cynthia Martin, CEO and Head Librarian, says “This is our chance to show our volunteers how much they mean to us and to thank them for their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to the library. It was a very enjoyable lunch catered by The Broken Kettle and music was provided by several members of the Vankleek Hill Old Time Fiddlers.”

The volunteer program of the Champlain Library creates opportunities for community members to actively contribute to the library’s vision of excellence by supplementing the efforts of staff.

It has been demonstrated that volunteers can enrich and inform the public about library services. Some of the tasks that volunteers perform are shelving, delivery of materials to shut-ins, seasonal displays, care of library plants, craft preparation or running children’s & adult programs.

If you are an adult or teen and are interested in volunteering at the Champlain Library in Vankleek Hill, please call the library at 613-678-2216.
