While the main intersection of High Street and Highway 34 (Vankleek Hill’s main intersection) continues to be closed next week (October 1 through to the end of the week, Champlain Township has issued notice of another intersection closure slated for Monday, October 1.
As part of the ongoing Highway 34 / Connecting Link Project, the intersection of High Street and Fraser Street will be closed on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for deep sanitary sewer repair. If this work is not completed on Monday the intersection might be closed for a second day, Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
The township says that all construction areas will be marked by barricades and road closure signs. Drivers are encouraged to observe all signage in the area and to follow designated traffic routes.
Houses/driveways on High Street will still be accessible from either end of the closure. Residents on Fraser Street will need to access their properties via Pendleton Street.
