It seems that Cornwall is going through a square dancing revival — Shenyce Honavar and Michel Lupien’s wedding party incorporated their love of modern square dancing.
The couple approached the Glengarry Tartans Alexandria to teach them to square dance. The intent was to have the wedding party perform a dance demo immediately after the opening dance; and so, eleven dancers were taught basic moves & figures by caller Francois Desmarais.
“We were extremely impressed with how fast they progressed,” said Desmarais. “They tackled the training with smiles and enthusiasm!”
On the evening of May 26, the dance flowed without a hitch.
“We wish them all the best, and hope to see them again in Alexandria or Cornwall for some dancing!” Desmarais enthused.
