The 20th annual Prescott 50+ Games will take place from June 10 to June 13 in Hawkesbury and in Plantagenet. People can participate in several activities – sand bags, darts, golf, bingo, military whist, line dancing, cribbage and more.

The first three days of the Games will take place in Hawkesbury and will conclude in Plantagenet. Specific locations vary, depending upon the activity. Each activity costs $2, with the exception of golf, mini-putt and line-dancing. Teams for the activities will be randomly determined.

The final day will include “500” and cribbage, with supper at 6 p.m., followed by live music with Polyphonic – a family of musicians. The cost for the supper and music is $35 per person. For the music portion of the evening only, the cost is $15 per person.

June 10:

At 1 p.m, pétanque takes place outdoors in Hawkesbury at the Maison de l’Ile.

June 11:

At 9 a.m., a sandbag tournament takes place at the Salle du Club d’âge d’or 50+ at 421-A Cartier Boulevard. At 10 a.m., a group walk leaves from the Robert Hartley Sports Complex. A $5 lunch will be served at the Salle du Club d’âge d’or at a cost of $5. At 1 p.m., a golf tournament takes place at La Cité Golf Club. A military whist tournament takes place at 1:30 p.m. at the Salle du Club d’âge d’or, with Pétanque-atout at Manoir McGill, 342 McGill Street in Hawkesbury.

June 12:

At 9 a.m., a “baseball poche” tournament talkes place at the Salle du Club d’âge d’or 50+, mini-putt takes place behind the Dairy Queen at 76 Main Street West in Hawkesbury at a cost of $5 per person. Lunch at the Royal Canadian Legion in Hawkesbury happens at 12 noon, at a cost of $8 per person. Bingo takes place at 1:30 p.m. at the Prescott-Russell Residence at 1020 Cartier Boulevard. Line dancing takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion at a cost of $5 per person. A dart tournament takes place at Salle du Club d’âge d’or 50+.

June 13:

At 1:30 p.m., there will be a cribbage tournament at the Club d’âge d’or room at the Plantagenet Community Centre, located at 220 Main Street in Plantagenet and a 500 tournament takes place at the Plantagenet Community Hall, followed by the supper and live music event at the Plantagenet Community Centre to conclude the 50+ Games. Note that reservations are necessary for the supper/show.
