On April 12, the Township of North Glengarry staff and council wore hockey jerseys to work as a message of solidarity to the families of the Humboldt Broncos and to show their support and pay tribute to those who lost their lives in last week’s tragic bus crash.

At the request of North Glengarry Mayor Chris McDonell, on behalf of council, the Canadian flag in front of Town Hall was also lowered to half-mast.

“All of us were deeply saddened by the tragedy in Saskatchewan, particularly as many of us have spent countless hours on buses traveling to hockey games and other sporting events,” said Mayor Chris McDonell.

Across the country Thursday, people showed up to work and school decked out in Jerseys and sharing the message that we are all one team and that we all feel this loss.
