This Saturday, February 10, the Vankleek Hill Curling Club is holding its annual Heart and Stroke Bonspiel. Although the curling section is full, everyone is invited to watch the games which start at 9 am. Join everyone at the curling club for a Smoked Meat Lunch and you are invited to make a donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation. The funds raised by this event are being matched by Scotiabank in Vankleek Hill, to a maximum of $5,000.

Recently the Vankleek Hill Curling Club hosted its annual Men’s Invitational Bonspiel and congratulations are extended to the winners: Section A  – representing the Vankleek Hill Curling Club – Keith Murray, Hunter Smith, Bruce Cross and Dave Dawson and Section B – representing the Brownsburg Curling Club – Louis Parisien, Daniel Bevillard, Fred Potvin and Danny Mapp.

Most of the January Draw curling games at the club are completed and the winners were: Monday morning – Bob Griffith, Jean Roy, Rosemary Devenne and Michelle Stringer; Wednesday morning – Mac McIntyre, Gus Castonguay, Joanne Cook and Bob McElligott; Wednesday evening – Walter Price, Lois Linttell, Bruce Cross and Dale Clare; Thursday morning – Loretta Danylo, Shirley Duncan, Liz Radix, Andrea Zilhmann; Thursday evening – Dan Tremblay, Leslie Dandy, Mike Courtemanche and Martin Zilhmann; Friday morning – Marcel Clement, Jean Roy, Gus Castonguay and Serge Leger.

The Ladies Snowflake Bonspiel will be held on Tuesday, February 13 and you are invited to come and watch the games.
