An extra shower is among some of the benefits of additional funding announced last week by the Québec government to be put towards long term care residences.

The additional $36 million will also allow the residences to hire additional staff and “optimize” operations, according to a release sent last week.

It added that residences will be assessed to respond better to the residents’ needs.

The funding comes on top of an initial $65 million put towards long term care residences last year. That led to 12 new jobs, mainly nurses and personall support workers, across the three residences in Argenteuil.
