New executive for Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market

The Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market held its annual general meeting on Sunday, March 26 to elect a new board of directors. The meeting was followed by a dinner made from products sold at the market, all prepared and served by Chef Bruce Wood. The executive members determine who will serve as president, vice-president, etc. Above, from left to right are: Hans Lindenmann (director), Aartje den Boer (vice-president), Tara MacWhirter (president); Dorothy Sheppard (secretary);  Gudula Bauer (director); Alena Peroutka (director), Tessie Abe-Mellina (treasurer) and Richard Kerr, outgoing president. The Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market is one of the few year-round markets in Ontario; it is open year-round on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
