A 14-year-old boy from Alexandria has been arrested following an altercation with family members that resulted in police intervention. The incident took place at approximately 3 p.m., on December 7, at a residence located in Alexandria.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) detachment report that the youth was involved in an altercation with family members, which resulted in the accused causing damage to a vehicle.

A knife was seized from the accused during his arrest. He was later charged with mischief under $5,000, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, two counts of failure to comply with a sentence imposed on him by the Youth Criminal Justice Act and three counts of failure to comply with recognizance.

The teen was held in police custody pending an appearance before a judge at the Ontario Court of Justice, in Cornwall.
