On October 17 Francine Charbonneau, Quebec’s Minister responsible for seniors and anti-bullying, visited Lachute to present a $150,000 grant to the Centre d’action bénevole (CAB) d’Argenteuil so that it can expand its programs to more clients.

CAB d’Argenteuil is a non-for-profit agency that trains volunteers who assist seniors. It also offers programs that encourage seniors to be more active and helps seniors make small modifications to their living environments so that they can stay in their homes longer.

In a written statement, Argenteuil MNA Yves St-Denis applauded the work done by CAB d’Argenteuil, which he said is taking concrete steps to make living conditions healthier, safer and more welcoming for the seniors in his riding.
Funding comes from the province’s “Quebec ami des aînes” program, which was launched in 2012 to support initiatives that address the needs of seniors.
