Ryan, Stella Theresa

Stella Theresa Ryan (McAllister) passed away peacefully in her 86th year at the Maxville Manor on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, surrounded by her family. Theresa is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Gregory and seven loving children: Charlene (John VanLeeuwen) – Hunter River, PE, Angela (Murray McIntosh) – St. Elmo, Erin (Paul Topping) – Maxville, Heather (Chris Hall) – Curran, Carolin (Sean O’Regan) – Carp, Wayne – Riceville, and Wendy – Ottawa. Theresa is survived by eleven adoring grandchildren: Sister Katherine Unity (Katie), Pieter and Julie VanLeeuwen, Emma McIntosh, Melissa (Zack Jackson), Sarah (Cory Sanders), Senna (Chad Lapensee), Kyle Topping (Leigh Kelly), Ryan Topping, Sydney Presley, and Liam O’Regan. She is also survived by her eleven wonderful great-grandchildren; Joey, Ella, Madi, James, Dylan, Xavy, Brayden, Rhett, Brady, Camden, and Kennedy. She is survived by her siblings Viola Halstead (late Ron), Lewis McAllister (Nicole), Mary McAllister and Leonard McAllister (Vicky) and by sister-in-law Alma Matte (Andre) and by many nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Percy and Gertrude McAllister (McKinley), and her siblings Leona (late Marc Hamelin), James McAllister (Donna), Helen O’Donnell (Wilfred), infant brother Dean and sister-in-law Colleen DeGrauwe (Harry & Andree). Visitation will be at the Munro & Morris Funeral Home, 20 Main St. Maxville, ON, (613-527-2898) on Friday, March 8th, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, March 9th, at St. Finnan’s Basilica 72 St. Paul St., Alexandria, ON, at 2 pm, followed by a reception at the Bonnie Glen Pavilion, 19596 County Road 43, Alexandria ON. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Maxville Manor for the excellent and devoted care that Theresa received during the eight months that she was a resident and for the phenomenal end-of-life care Theresa and her family received. We also wish to thank the Para Med PSWs for their years of care, especially Judy and Donna. The family also wishes to offer special thanks to a dear friend and caregiver, Lise Cote, who has done so much for her and always made her smile.
