Peacefully at the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital on Friday, December 15, 2023, Richard Brunet of Vankleek Hill passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 73. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie-Claire, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Cherished father to Chantal Sauve (Mike) and Michel (Chantal Chartrand). He was a fun loving “G.P.” to Kyle, Dominic, and Kari-Anne, whom he affectionately called “Sunshine”. Dear brother to Raymond (Marielle) and Yvon (Carole). He will be missed by nieces, nephews, and his in-laws of the Duval Family. Predeceased by his parents, Romeo and Ida Brunet. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital staff, Dr. Landa, Dr. Bender, the nurses, and the Paramedics of Prescott Russell for their exceptional care. In honouring Richard’s wishes, a Private Family Inurnment will take place at St. Grégoire’s Catholic Cemetery, Vankleek Hill.
