NOBLE, PHYLLIS – Special thanks go first to Kathleen and Ian Hay, for generously giving us so much of their time and advice, and for making Phyllis’ service uncomplicated. Thank you also to their daughter Lauren for her technical expertise, and her hospitality, during her time off. Thank you next to the congregation of Breadalbane Baptist Church for loaning us their place of worship. You allowed Phyllis to have the proper church service she deserved, close to her final resting place, and we will be forever grateful. And a big thank you to Daphne and the staff at Hillcrest Funeral Home for guiding us through ALL the funeral preparations, and for your help ensuring the visitation and the service went smoothly. Thank you to Rev. John Noordhof for his help and knowledge preparing the service, as well as his poignant but spot-on words of remembrance at the funeral. Phyllis was well represented, and the hymns were perfect. Thank you to Kathleen Fraser-Collins for her prowess on the piano playing those hymns, and for collaborating with Rev. John on the service order. Thank you to Joan MacGillivary who, as always, provided just the right décor, appropriate for this occasion, and took time to set it up for us. Thank you to Mrs. Shirley Dashney who made the delicious and hardy lunch. There was plenty for everyone, with some to take home. Thank you to Dale Hambleton for prepping the cemetery, and the niche door, and for giving his time at the funeral. We must mention DM Etching out of Hawkesbury for their extraordinary reproduction of Phyllis’ vision on her niche door. Thank you for your care and excellent work. We would again like to thank the staff at C2 East at the Hawkesbury General Hospital. That includes all the amazing nursing staff (shout out to Nicole, Manon, and Celeste), but also to the janitorial crew and the food delivery folks. You run a well-oiled machine. Thank you to those who sent beautiful arrangements to the funeral home, and to our house, as well as the charitable donations made to the VKH Food Bank, Dalhousie Mills, and HGH. We need to thank everyone who took time to pay their respects to Mom (let’s be real about who is writing this) at Hillcrest and at Breadalbane. We appreciate those who had to travel great distances to do so, as well as those close by who changed their plans to be with us. It was incredible to see the different aspects of her life reflected in who attended the services. We also value the messages received from those of you unable to appear in person, who needed to pass on their condolences. Finally, and especially, we must thank our family, friends and neighbours who called or messaged, those who stopped in just for a visit, or to bring nourishment, as well as those we saw out in public who stopped to offer their sympathies. We very much appreciate the love and support you are providing during this time of sorrow. We think Phyllis would feel blessed to know that you are looking out for us. It will not be forgotten.
