McVicar, Gordon ‘Skippy’

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Gordon (Skippy) at the age of 93. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Dorothy MacIntyre. Also survived by his daughter Joan (Rob), son Robert, his grandchildren Laura (Tyler), Warren (Jillian) and his great-grandchildren Oliver, Ford, Beau, Hank and Lily as well as his brother, Alvin (Nancy). Skippy is predeceased by his parents, Victor and Laura, his sisters Freda Todd, Stella Zimmerman and Elsie Formagie and his brothers Harry, John, Fraser and Arthur. Skippy worked at Canadian Refractories for 44 years. He enjoyed life, fishing, hunting, bowling and especially caring for his family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Hawkesbury General Hospital and Maxville Manor. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date. A Tree of Remembrance for Skippy will be planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest in Vankleek Hill.
