Peacefully August 3, 2023, at the age of 87, in Kingston, ON. Nancy Ann was born on October 29, 1935, in Dalesville, QC to Katie Edythe (nee Silverson) and George Dewey McCormick.
Combined with being given a loving and supportive upbringing by her family, the tenets of the Dalesville Baptist Church helped shape her into becoming the caring, down-to-earth, and independent woman she was.
Nancy Ann was a graduate of Montreal General Hospital’s School for Nurses, Class of 1957. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Western Ontario in 1969, she dedicated her career to nursing, working at the Montreal General Hospital. She was head nurse of the Postpartum Unit before retiring in 1986.
On September 19, 1986, Nancy Ann wed Ronald Cunningham in Montreal. In 1999, they moved to southeastern Ontario to enjoy retirement in the Thousand Islands region. She is predeceased by her husband Ron of 36 years. Nancy Ann is affectionately remembered by his children Arthur (Loredana), Margaret (Sarah), Christine (Luc), and Heather (Samuel) Cunningham, and their children, by her friend Carolanne Vair, and by countless cousins and other relatives who will dearly miss her.
Warm and appreciative thanks go out to the Kingston General Hospital, and Carveth Care Centre, Gananoque. With deep roots in Argenteuil County, QC, which extend through the pioneering families of McCormick, Pollock, Silverson, and Murdoch, Nancy Ann will be laid to rest in a private service at the Lachute Protestant Cemetery, QC on September 20, 2023. Donations may be made in her name at your local Humane Society.
