Aline Matte of Vankleek Hill passed away peacefully at the Hawkesbury General Hospital on Monday, January 24th, 2022 at the age of 85. Predeceased by her parents Dieudonné and Florence Poirier from Vankleek Hill. Predeceased by her loving husband, Gerald Matte, her sister, Gisele Baird and her nephew Scot Lynas. Proud and loving mother of Danielle Matte (René Choinière) and grandmother of Camille, Sacha and Julianne Choinière. Dear sister of Lise Lynas (Brian), Gaëtane Archibald (Greg), Évelyne Clavel (Robert) and Doris Lanthier (Emiliano Wan). She also leaves behind her sister in law Jacqueline Fraser (Stanley) and many loved nieces and nephews.
Aline was a teacher at heart but later transitioned into the family business, The Man’s Style Shop in Vankleek Hill. She enjoyed her retirement despite the fact that her husband died in his early 60s. She was an avid traveller, reader, gardener and social dancer. She was actively involved in the Saint Grégoire Parish and the Club d’Âge d’Or in Vankleek Hill.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the health care workers at Heritage Lodge and at the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital in her last days of life.
Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 151 Bond St, Vankleek Hill , February 4th, 2022 12:00 from to 1:45 pm. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm at Saint-Gregoire-de-Nazianze, 137 Higginson Street, Vankleek Hill.
