Martin, Dora (née Sauvé)

Peacefully at the Prescott-Russell Residence, Hawkesbury on Thursday, August 17, 2023 Dora Martin of Vankleek Hill passed away at the age of 93. Predeceased by her parents Joseph Emery Sauvé and Electa Hubert. She was born on May 25, 1930, in Vankleek Hill and was #13 of 16 children. Predeceased by her beloved husband Rolland “Rolly” Martin. Proud and loving mother of Carmen Paquette (Réjean), Denis (Margaret), Gilles (June), Nicole McIntyre (Dean), Pierre (Carol) and Michel (Diane). Predeceased by her son André. Dearly loved grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Marie Larocque (late Bruno), Jane Perreault (late Pierre), Thérèse Ladurantaye (late Laurent), Stella Seguin (late Léo), Emma Durocher (late Adrien) and her brothers Peter “Bidou” (late Catherine), Bill (late Dolores), Art (late Shirley), George (late Claudette), Charles (Gertrude), Roger “Joe” (late Jeannine) and Roméo (late Laurette). Predeceased at birth by Winifred, Edmond, and Juliette. Fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Madelaine Jeaurond (late George) and brother-in-law Roger Martin (Lorraine). Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may visit at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 11 am at Saint-Grégoire-de-Nazianze Church, 137 Higginson Street, Vankleek Hill.
