Peacefully at the Palace LTC on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Christena Margaret “Tena” MacSweyn (née McCormick) of McCrimmon Corners; age 92 years. Beloved wife to the late Peter Gordon MacSweyn (April 29, 2022). Loving mother of John (Jen), Wayne (Karen Ruest), Bobby (Marielle Leblanc), Elizabeth MacSweyn (Tim Nolan) and Eric (Cynthia). Predeceased by her parents John Angus McCormick and Elizabeth Ann MacMillan; also by her three brothers: Robert, Duncan Angus (late Corrine) and Archie (late Kay). Tena is survived by 6 grandchildren: Derek, Blair, Hayley, Jamie, Sam and Jacob. She will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. The family wishes to extend a big heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the staff at the Palace LTC for the care that Tena received. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria ON (613-525-2772). Cremation has taken place. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Finnan’s Basilica followed by an urn burial in the parish cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Tena a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
