On June 8th, 2021, Christine Louise MacDonald passed away peacefully at the age of 83 years. Loving mother of Elizabeth MacDonald. Proud grandmother of Rachel (Patrick) and Caroline (Daniel) and great-grandmother of Valérie. Daughter of the late Duncan and Margaret (McIntosh) MacDonald. Dear sister of Jean Threader, and Archie (Marion). Predeceased by brothers John and Donald and brother-in-law Jack. Honorary grandmother to the Mia Family. Fondly remembered by her niece Beth, nephews Donald, Greg, Jeff and extended family. Greatly missed by Charles; her Mexican sisters, Adela, Rosita; local supporters Mary and Norma and many friends. Born in Lancaster, Ontario, Christine attended Carleton University, graduated with a degree in Mathematics and taught at South Carleton High School for many years before her retirement. Christine will be remembered for her love of travel (particularly to Mexico) and her involvement in numerous community and charitable initiatives. She was an active long-time supporter of the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa. A gathering to honour Christine’s memory will be planned for a later date.
