Labelle, Jacques

Jul 6, 2020

“He came in first and left first. ”

It was at the dawn of this Thursday, July 2, 2020, that a great man, Mr. Jacques Labelle, passed away at the age of 80. An informed businessman of high caliber, as is rare these days, Mr. Labelle left his mark on the business world. Thanks to his passions, he was able to excel. He was the founder of Gray Hawk and contributed to the creation of many other Hawkesbury businesses. His involvement in his community was remarkable. He loved to help his fellow man with his heart on his sleeve and also gave to those in need, something he passed on to his children and grandchildren: Danie, Marc-André (Sylvie Fortin), Dominic, Pier-Luc and Olivier (Isabel). In spite of his many projects, there was always time devoted especially to his beautiful partner, Johanne Michaud, as well as her children Deric (Cathy) and Martin and his grandchildren, Elorie and Ethan, who brightened up his days. A lover of good food and also an excellent cook, everyone agrees that he loved to entertain around a good table. His signature? Finish with a good cigar and a small digestive. Ask his brothers and sisters: Yolande Brien (Euclyde), Jean (Lyne Fontaine), Pierre, Ange-Marie (the late Michel Dupuis), Paul and Louise (Normand LeBel) for whom their brother Jacques will always hold an important place in their hearts. There is no doubt, whether it is the mother of his children, Madeleine Labre, or his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends, that the human side of Jacques will forever be ingrained in their memories. Now he has gone to join his parents, the late Eugène Labelle and the late Ange-Aimée Roquebrune. Did he go by boat or aboard an old car? What is certain is that where he is now, he is certainly doing business. But his most important project will be to look after all those he loves and who have loved him. Since Jacques had a passion for cars, the family invites relatives and friends to come and visit him outside, in their cars (through the entrance on Bon Pasteur Street) at the Berthiaume Family Funeral Home, 416 McGill Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511, Friday, July 10, 2020, from 9 to 11 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff of the Glengarry Memorial Hospital and the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital for their good care. For those who wish, donations to the Parkinson Society of Ottawa, 1053 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Y 4E9 and/or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, PO Box 460, Station L, Toronto, ON, M4P 9Z9 would be appreciated.
