Devoted father of Pat (Jeff), Ricky (Carol), Gail (Doug), Jocelynne (Leon), Billy (Monique), Lambert (Melanie), Anne (Mark) and predeceased by his daughter Susan. Proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by Dora (James), Tom (Margaret), Katie (Marrten), Percy (Ximena, Celine), Gladys (Gordon), Faye (Dan). Loving son of the late Elmer and Ruth Kelly. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and friend to all who knew him. Ron was a proud and humble man. He was always kind, compassionate and generous. As with his brothers, he was the glue that held the Kelly family together. A man of many talents and all self taught. He owned Avoca Construction Company, known for high quality work and honesty. He was one of the best heavy equipment operators and worked his later years at Cavanagh Construction, retiring at 85. Dad loved life, always looking out for family and friends, a value he instilled in his children. He played guitar in his early years and was known as the best square dance caller in Avoca and surrounding area – all the way to Montréal. His many interests included reading, beekeeping, bird watching, cutting the lawn, among many others. He was a man of deep faith and devotion. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Valerie who was both a friend, and considered part of the family and visited Dad daily in his many hospital stays. A very special thank you to the doctors and staff at Carleton Place Hospital, the wonderful and dedicated PSWs from Bayshore Home Health Care who enabled him to fulfill his wish to stay in his home and the Lanark County Paramedics. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, a donation to The Lanark County Food Bank – The Hunger Stop or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. A funeral will be held on July 13, 2024 at 11 am at St. Andrew’s United Church in Avoca Quebec. Interment Avoca Cemetery followed by a reception at Avoca Community Centre. DO EVERYTHING IN LOVE. 1 CORINTHIANS 16:14
