Henri “Hank” passed away peacefully surrounded by members of the Osgoode Care Centre family at the age of 97. Born in Windsor on December 1, 1928, he was the beloved son of Gustave and Julia Jacquot and a dear brother to René, Jeanne, Aline, Lorette, Denise, Suzanne and Héléne. Henri was the devoted husband of Jeanne Evelyn Jacquot for 47 years, until her passing in 2003. He was a loving father and role model to Henri (Sharon), Robert (Donna), John Paul (late Carolyn), Donald (Betty), Teresa (Geoff), and late Annette (Dave). Henri leaves behind his sister Suzanne and a legacy carried on by his eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In a touching and profound moment, his sister, Aline, passed away peacefully the same evening, at the age of 99, shortly after learning of her brother’s passing—reflecting the deep bond they shared. A true outdoorsman, Henri loved hunting and fishing and spent many happy days boating on the Detroit River in his younger years. He proudly served as a Cub and Scout Akela with the 40th Windsor at Blessed Sacrament Church. His career with Duplate Glass spanned 47 years as an Industrial Mechanic and Millwright where his work eventually led the family to Hawkesbury, Ontario, where cherished memories were made at the beloved “farmhouse.” Henri’s love of golf inspired him to create a legendary two-hole course proudly known as the Farmhouse Golf Course. During curling season, he was a familiar and valued presence at the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club. The farmhouse became a gathering place for family and friends alike, always open to campers, laughter, shared meals, and good company. As a natural fixer, Henri’s hands were rarely idle and often said, “If it’s broke, I can’t make it worse.” His ingenuity even extended to holding patents related to glass bending through his work. The family would like to extend their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Osgoode Care Centre, whose extraordinary dedication, compassion, and respect brought Henri comfort, dignity, and genuine kindness during his many years in their care. Your unwavering commitment meant more than words can express, and you became an essential part of his extended family. Henri was a gentle giant whose warmth, generosity, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Family and friends are invited at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill, Ontario, on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A time of remembrance will be held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the Golden Age Club, 122 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill, Ontario. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to The Osgoode Care Centre in Metcalfe.
