McRae, Irene

Peacefully at the Kemptville General Hospital on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 with her family by her side, Irene McRae (Baron) née Nixon passed away at the age of 93. Loving mother to Cheryl Cable (Reg) and Susan Boivin (Michel). Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Lee (Jen), Stephanie (Vito), Scott (Jess), Eric (Christine), and Chelsea. Great grandmother of Reiley, Katie, Justin, and Abby. Lovingly remembered by sister Grace (John) along with family and friends. Predeceased by her second husband, Eric McRae (2023) and first husband Len Baron (1984), and her sister Joyce. Irene was born and raised in and around the Vankleek Hill area. Moved to Montréal to work and eventually to raise her family. Irene loved her family and friends. She also loved to travel and spent many years enjoying winters in Florida. In respect of Irene’s wishes a private burial will be held at McLaughlin Cemetery, Vankleek Hill. Donations to the McLaughlin Cemetery, c/o Jean Kerr, 641 MacCallum’s Lane, Vankleek Hill, Ontario, K0B 1R0, would be appreciated. A Tree of Remembrance for Irene will be planted in the McAlpineForever Forest, Vankleek Hill.
