Hodgson, Peter

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Hodgson on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Jean and loving father of Sandra (Rob) and Anne. Proud grandfather of Michael and Sophie. Peter lived a long and happy life. He was born in Woodford, England to Alan and Francis Hodgson. He graduated from the chemical engineering program at the University of Toronto and then married Jean in 1965. They moved to Hawkesbury, Ontario where Peter worked at CIP Research until his retirement in the 1980s. Peter and Jean spent 60 happy years together in Hawkesbury. They enjoyed many trips and adventures together. Peter enjoyed many hobbies in his retirement years including woodworking, antique restorations and gardening. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre palliative care unit. Final arrangements have been entrusted with Highland Park Funeral Centre in Peterborough and a private family gathering will take place at a later date.
