GILES, MABEL MARY (ACRES)

Peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at the Lachute Residence, Lachute, Quebec. Survived by her children, Richard (Arlette Brochu), Tim and Donna (David Smith), her beloved grandchildren, Heather (Ed), Ian and Katherine Giles, Ryan (Samantha) and Samantha (Antoine) Smith, Jordan (Celeste) and Danielle (Nolan) Thompson, great-granddaughter, Keira Thompson, as well as her triplet sisters, Marjory (the late Hervé Delorme) and Margaret (Tom Jamison) and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, John, daughter, Susan (Dan Thompson) and brother, Donald Acres. Mabel was always active in her community having served 10 years as a municipal councillor for Wentworth Township, many years with the Lachute United Church, St Aiden’s Anglican Church, Lake Louisa Social Club, The Lachute Residence, Meals on Wheels and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for her years of support to the Brownsburg-Lachute Rotary Club, to name but a few of her activities. Mabel enjoyed her life-time of summers and in later years, winters, at Lake Louisa. At her request there will be no visitation or funeral. She prefers that her family and friends gather to remember her life and the good times they shared together to be held on March 18th, 2017 2:00-4:00 PM at the Wentworth Recreative Centre, 86 Louisa Road, Wentworth, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, her request is that a donation be made to The Ladies Committee of the Lachute Residence, 377, rue Principale, Lachute, QC J8H 1Y1.
