Enrico (Rick) Starnino

Enrico (Rick) Starnino passed away July 12, 2021 surrounded by his children and in the arms of his loving wife Barbara. He knew the cancer was winning. However, always the proverbial boss he was going when he chose to. You could not enter his hospital room with a gloomy face, because his humor and bright smile could cheer up anyone. His wife thinks it’s because he always made sure to order Tim Horton doughnuts for the nurses. For the past 32 years most of the community knew him as Enrico the Caterer. The catering business was the perfect fit for a man who loved food, people and also the service of people. He loved making people happy. He could make your wedding spectacular and your birthday an event to remember and yes, even your funeral. To his friends he was loyal and someone who would help you at the ‘drop-of-a-hat’. And if you needed a ‘thing-a-ma-jig’ for your ‘whatcha-ma-call-it’, he always had a spare part somewhere. He was handyman ‘extraordinaire’. There was nothing he could not figure out to build, plant, install or fix….well maybe just the settings on his darn cell phone. Rick was truly one of a kind and he will be greatly missed by his ‘Tim Horton’s Gang’ the ‘Poker Boys’ the ‘Pool Cues’ the ‘Motorcycle Misfits’ his old band ‘The Ghost Riders’.  To his mother-in-law, Genie he was the son she never had. His brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws will deeply miss this incredible loving and giving man. If you ever have gone through the Tim Horton’s drive thru and the clerk tells you that the car in front of you paid your coffee, well that was probably “Enrico”. Kind and giving to a fault, even to perfect strangers.. His wife Barbara and children Jesika, Steffani, Andraya and Jason will miss him beyond measure. And to loosely paraphrase a quote by Jeanette Winterson “they will forever have a hole in their hearts in the shape of him”.
