Mrs. Rachel Desmarais of L’Orignal passed away, surrounded by her family, on Monday, July 3, 2023, at the age of 77. She was the beloved wife of the late Yves Desmarais; the daughter of the late Bruno Larocque and Marie Sauvé; the beloved mother of Mariève (Normand Labonté); Lisane (Jean-Philippe Poirier) and Jean-Philippe; the beloved grandmother of Mikaël (Sabrina), Camélya, Maélie, Florence, Anabelle and Émile; dear sister of Lily-Ann (Robert Poirier) and Paul Barthelette (Nicolle). She is also survived by two brothers-in-law: Daniel (Monique), Gaëtan (Carla) as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of the Hawkesbury General Hospital and the Ottawa Hematology Centre for their loving care. Rachel will be remembered as a passionate teacher, as well as for her many years of involvement and dedication to the parish and the Cursillist movement. She distinguished herself by her exceptional ability to listen and her kindness to others. Funeral service will be held at Saint-Pierre-Apôtre Parish of Hawkesbury (470 Main Street, Hawkesbury, ON K6A 1A9) on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11 am.
