Kenneth “Ken” Chambers of Vankleek Hill passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, at the age of 70. Ken was a devoted father to Jennifer (Dave) and Emily (Norm) and a proud “Poppy” to Lyla, Kye, Hayden, Beckett, Rhys, and Willow. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment with them—especially Christmas, a time filled with magic and family traditions. A lifelong Maple Leaf’s fan, his biggest team loyalty was to his eldest grandson’s house league team. Ken loved life’s simple joys—visiting the Lachute Flea Market for fresh raspberry pies, cruising in his Dodge Dart, attending bluegrass and classic rock concerts with his daughters and spending peaceful days fishing, either on a calm lake or frozen river. He was never one to pass on the opportunity to tell a good joke, his hearty laugh often overpowering the delivery of the punchline. A phenomenal cook, he believed food brought people together, filling his home with the aroma of his famous Poppy spaghetti sauce, breakfast westerns, bacon buns, and his legendary chocolate birthday cakes complete with jam filling. Above all, Ken will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends. Ken was the dear brother of the late Linda, John, Barbara, and Nancy and will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, closest lifelong friends and all who knew him. As per Ken’s wishes, a private service will be held. For those who wish, donations to the Heart Institute of Ottawa would be appreciated. A Tree of Remembrance will be planted in McAlpine Forever Forest, a fitting tribute to a man who brought so much love and warmth into the world. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hillcrest Funeral Home, 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill, ON. 613-678-2002. hillcrestfuneralhome.ca
