Suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 22, 2020 Gerald Carkner of Vankleek Hill passed away at the age of 83. Predeceased by his parents George Carkner and Matilda Sabourin. Loving husband of 58 years to Beverly (née Smith). Dearly loved father of Cheryl Power (Michael) and Jeff (Valerie). Proud and fun loving “Gpa” to Corey (Erin), Kelsey (Shayne), Chase and Jason and Great-Gpa to Layla. Dear brother of Jean (Claude) and Myles (Caroll). Predeceased by his brothers Ellis, Dick, Lyle, Everett, Cecil, Earl, Stanley and Clifford and his sister Shirley. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Gerald’s Life on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club, 136 Bond Street from 2 to 5 pm.
