Allen, Irwin

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Mr. Irwin Allen on June 12, 2026, at the age of 92. He was the son of the late Lloyd Allen and the late Hazel Peasley. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Kathleen McRae Berthiaume, whose memory remained dear to him throughout the years. He leaves behind cherished memories for his siblings Iola (the late Clarence Lucas), Phyllis (Ed Wintle), Evelyn (the late Aubrey Taylor), and Keith (Rollande). He will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his companion, Irwin was predeceased by his sisters, Leona, Iris, Vivian (the late Gordon Shanks), and by his brothers, Emerson (the late Phyllis McCaskill) and Sydney. The family extends its sincere gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of Glengarry Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care and support provided during his stay. The family will receive relatives and friends at Hillcrest Funeral Home (151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill, Ont.) on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Cassburn Cemetery (1790 Cassburn Rd, L’orignal, Ont.) Family and friends are then invited to gather for a reception at the Dalkeith Community Center (1865 Dalkeith Road, Dalkeith, Ont.) to share memories As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
