On Wednesday, October 21 and Thursday, October 22, the big move down Spence Avenue in Hawkesbury took place for people who live at the Prescott and Russell Residence. According to the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, 73 residents moved from the old facility at the corner of Spence Avenue and Cartier Boulevard on Wednesday, and more were expected to relocate on Thursday. The residents were assisted by caregivers and staff to ensure safe transportation of people and possessions alike.

The new Residence has 224 beds, an increase of 78 beds from the old facility.

An official opening ceremony for the new Prescott and Russell Residence will take place in 2027.
