On Tuesday, September 8, Grenville-sur-la-Rouge (GSLR) Council approved more than $35,000 in paving work on sections of Rue Ménard, Rue Paquette, and Rue de la Berge.
The contract covering work on Rue Ménard and Rue Paquette was awarded to 9333-0645 Québec Inc. for $17,663.80, before applicable taxes. The amount includes a 10 per cent contingency.
The municipality received two quotes for the work, with Uniroc Construction Inc. submitting a total bid of $19,096, including the contingency.
9333-0645 Québec Inc. was also awarded an $18,315 contract, before applicable taxes, for paving work on a section of Rue de la Berge. The contract includes a 10 per cent contingency.
Uniroc submitted a total bid of $19,800 for the Rue de la Berge work.
For the Rue Ménard and Rue Paquette project, council authorized a $22,500 transfer from the municipality’s unallocated surplus. The funds for the Rue de la Berge work will come from the municipality’s existing budget.
Both contracts were approved unanimously without discussion.
