Time on the golf course at La Cité Golf Club in Hawkesbury has turned into a $3,500 donation for Maison Interlude House (MIH), following the sixth Hawkesbury Annual Invitational Golf Tournament (HAIG) held on Saturday, August 8.
On Tuesday, September 8, organizers of the tournament, Ross Weiss and Brian Lawrence, presented the donation to MIH’s Executive Director, Muriel Lalonde. Tournament sponsors, community members, and approximately 40 players made the $3,500 donation possible.
The annual tournament received support from a long list of local businesses, with special donations provided by Fred Coleman, Ian Robinson, and Brian and Louise Lawrence.
Organizers credited the generosity of sponsors, players, and the local community with making this year’s tournament a success. The donation will support MIH’s work providing services and assistance to women and children affected by domestic violence in the region.
