Four people are facing a series of charges following an attempted vehicle theft.
On Sunday, September 6, 2026, shortly before 3:00 a.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle that failed to stop for police on Highway 417 in Russell County. According to Hawkesbury OPP Constable Eric Ranger, the suspects then entered the Hawkesbury detachment’s territory. A tire deflation device was successfully deployed, bringing the vehicle to a stop.
The OPP Canine Unit was called in to assist with the search for the occupants, who had fled the area. Four individuals were located and arrested.
A 16‑year‑old male from Terrebonne, Québec was charged with:
- Possession of device for purpose of committing theft
- Possessing automobile master key
- Possession break in instruments
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Flight from peace officer
Stavenski Bain, 19 years old from Montréal, was charged with:
- Possession of device for purpose of committing theft
- Possessing automobile master key
- Possession break in instruments
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Flight from peace officer
Matt Archy Jameson Corrioland, 19 years old from Montréal, was charged with:
- Possession of device for purpose of committing theft
- Possessing automobile master key
- Possession break in instruments
- Theft of motor vehicle
Oxaniel Meneide, 20 years old from Montréal, was charged with:
- Possession of device for purpose of committing theft
- Possessing automobile master key
- Possession break in instruments
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Flight from peace officer
- Dangerous operation
- Fail to comply with probation order
All four accused were held for a bail hearing.
