On September 1, Sûreté du Québec officers, in collaboration with Contrôle Routier Québec (CRQ), conducted a road safety operation in the area of ​​chemin Scotch (route 344) and route 148 in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. Here are the results of the vehicle inspections conducted during the operation:

17 vehicles inspected (7 vehicle combinations and 3 single vehicles)

Mechanical aspects:

7 mechanical inspection certificates – minor defects

Total 20 defects

Violations issued by CRQ:

1 ticket:

Overloading (5425 kg, permitted 4731 kg).

8 notices of non-compliance:

Inadequate pre-trip inspection;

Incomplete activity report;

Driving without a valid driver’s license;

Inadequate load securing;

Missing flare or reflectors;

Missing insurance certificate.

The 2021-2026 Transportation Network Safety Strategy, “Human Life at the Heart of Our Actions,” aims to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury collisions on road and recreational tourism networks. Action plans are being implemented in each of the distinct areas: Partnership, Intervention, Awareness, Technology, and Evaluation (PISTE) by the Sûreté du Québec and its partners.
