An East Hawkesbury resident faces charges after an investigation into allegations regarding sexual assault.
The investigation by the Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit has resulted in an arrest in relation to offences dating back to July 2025.
On Thursday, July 30, 2026, Robert Garby, a 62-year-old resident of East Hawkesbury was arrested and charged with:
- Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age – five counts
- Sexual interference – five counts
- Distribute cannabis to individual under 18 years of age
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal, Ontario on Wednesday September 02, 2026.
