Floodwaters have been rising on recent days along Rivière Rouge in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. The municipality recommended residents go and stay with family or friends in other places, but that if they chose to stay, to ensure they had proper emergency supplies.
During the morning on Monday, April 20, Chemin de la Rivière Rouge was closed to traffic. Grenville-sur-la-Rouge firefighters were visiting residents along Chemin de la Rivière Rouge and in other low-lying areas collecting emergency contact information and advising them to take precautions.
According to the Québec government’s flood monitoring website, as of the afternoon of Tuesday, April 21, Rivière Rouge was flowing at 902.1 cubic metres per second/32,000 cubic feet per second near the bridge located near the Chemin Walker intersection. The water level was 30.73 metres/100.8 feet.
