On Monday, February 23, North Glengarry Fire Services held its annual Recognition Night for firefighters at the Bonnie Glen Pavilion near Alexandria.

The 2025 recruit class was recognized for completing the practical skills training for Firefighter I, NFPA fully certified firefighters, as well as members who have completed Fire Officer and Fire Instructor credentials.

In addition, two retirees, Joey Lacasse and Alexandre Lalonde, were recognized for their years of service, and anniversaries of Exemplary Service were marked:

40 years of service from Allan Jensen, District Chief of the Apple Hill Fire Station

30 years of service, Denis Lalonde, District Chief of the Alexandria Fire Station

Ontario Long Service Medal for 25 years of service, firefighter Kevin Villeneuve

Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal for 20 years of service, Matthew Roy, Fire Chief

Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry Member of Parliament Eric Duncan presented the Federal Exemplary Service Medals and years of service.
