The Seaway Valley Theatre Company invites you to their twentieth anniversary season’s winter musical, “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella – Enchanted Edition.”

The timeless enchantment of a magical romantic comedy is reborn with the Rodgers and Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm, and elegance. Originally presented on CBS Television in 1957 starring Dame Julie Andrews, “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was also a great success. The second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother, led a whole new generation into the magical, enchanted world. Adapted for the stage from the 1997

teleplay, “Cinderella – Enchanted Edition” features all the songs from the TV movie, including “The Prince is Giving a Ball,” “In My Own Little Corner,” “It’s Possible,” and more. With great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, this romantic fairy tale still warms the hearts of children and adults alike.

The cast features many familiar faces that are well known in Cornwall and area’s performing arts community, including Sarah Caddell in the title role; Penny Bédard as the Fairy Godmother; Sophie Jean as Cinderella’s haughty stepmother; Jade Montroy and Stéphanie Charette as Grace and Joy, Cinderella’s stepsisters; Aaron Beaudette as Prince Christopher; Jamie Carr as Lionel, the prince’s steward; Lacie Petrynka as Queen Constantina, and Greg Taylor as King Maximillian. Backing up the principal actors is an ensemble of twenty-six singers, actors, and dancers of all ages who’ll make the show a magical musical where impossible things keep happening every day.

The creative team behind the scenes are all highly accomplished SVTC members. Directing her fifth SVTC winter musical is Lesley Ellam, for whom staging this show has been a longtime dream. Conducting the production’s twelve-piece orchestra is musical director, Elizabeth Caddell, who is well known in SDG’s music community. Choreographers Amy Main and Dana Power have crafted spectacular dances for the cast and ensemble which will leave you mightily impressed. And teaming up yet again to oversee the entire project are producers Shirley Robertson and Christiane Taylor.
