Drivers on Route 148 in the area west of Lachute unofficially known as Whisseltown should get ready to slow down.
Beginning Sunday, January 18, the speed limit on Route 148 between rue Gougeon and Autoroute 50 will decrease to 60 kilometres per hour from the current 70 kilometres per hour.
Signage has been posted advising drivers the speed limit will change soon.
Many homes and businesses are beside Route 148 in the area.
