A Hawkesbury man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Alfred and Plantagenet.
At around 7:45 pm on Friday, December 26, Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency responders were dispatched to reports of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian on County Road 17, between Boundary Road and Lajeunesse Road.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a 48-year-old male from Hawkesbury, was taken to hospital and pronounced deceased shortly afterward.
An investigation followed and County Road 17 between Boundary Road and Lajeunesse Road was closed for several hours.
