The Sûreté du Québec is asking for the public’s help in identifying possible witnesses to the fatal collision that occurred on Sunday, December 7 on Route 158 in Lachute.
Police responded to Route 158 around 11:00 a.m. for a collision involving two vehicles. The investigation revealed that a vehicle travelling eastbound crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a vehicle travelling westbound. Both occupants were transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle that crossed into the oncoming lane sustained serious injuries, but her life is not in danger.
Investigators are trying to locate people who may have witnessed the driving of the vehicle that veered out of its lane before the collision (a black 2016 Audi A5), particularly a white Toyota Camry (model years 2012-2014 or 2015-2017) and a dark grey Dodge Ram 1500 (model years 2010-2018).
